Have you ever wished you could stay at a bookstore, reading books all night long, after all the other patrons have left? If you are visiting Tokyo or lucky enough to live there, you can experience such a night at the newly opened hostel called Book and Bed Tokyo that invitees bibliophiles to immerse themselves with books and fall asleep while reading one.
The hybrid hostel and library is located on the seventh floor of a high-rise in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro neighborhood, just a minute away from Ikebukuro Station. At first glance, it looks like a trendy bookshop with bookshelves lining one end of the room and sofas with comfy cushions the other. But behind those bookshelves are 12 single-occupant, capsule-like sleeping compartments that can be reached by climbing a ladder.
