In January this year, we had reported that Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures was all set on making a sports biopic based on the Indian cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin. While Emraan Hashmi was roped in for the film a long time back, we now hear that Anthony D'Souza has been roped in to helm the project as the director.

Confirming the same, Anthony says, "Yes I will be directing the film however it is very early to talk about it. Currently, we are still in the story and scripting stages with Rajat Arora working on it." When quizzed about the film and its cast Anthony D'Souza adds, "We are looking to commence shooting the film early to mid next year. Apart from Emraan Hashmi, no one in the cast has been finalized."
