S.S. Rajamouli's upcoming film, Baahubali, becomes the highest spender of VFX in Indian cinema, as he will be spending over Rs. 85 crores for the VFX in the film. Also, since Baahubali is a period action drama, it boasts of a never-before-heard budget to create a visual extravaganza

Rajamouli has used VFX extensively before in his films like Makkhi, but this ambitious project of the director promises to take it a notch higher. Since the film is set in medieval India, the VFX team will create, extend and enhance the fictional kingdoms, forts and palaces in all their glory, along with creating beautiful landscapes. Apart from it, they will also be involved in creating several realistic action sequences, some of which involve animals.

Talking about this project, producer, Shobu Yarlagadda said, "We are attempting to make Baahubali as the most spectacular film ever on Indian screen. And we are using some cutting edge technology to achieve this. There is a lot of complex computer generated imagery (CGI) and VFX shots will be present in 90% of the movie. That means about 4500 - 5000 VFX shots. So when you look at numbers like that budgets will naturally be very high. Baahubali will be one of the most expensive films ever produced in India along with highest VFX budgets ever."

Baahubali stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati in lead roles and is being simultaneously shot in Telugu and Tamil. It will also be released in Hindi, Malayalam and other foreign languages in 2015.
