Riteish Deshmukh starrer, Banjo which released yesterday was panned by the critics. The film has taken a low start as according to early estimates, it collected in the range of 1.50 crores* on its opening day.
The collections are extremely low and even lesser than his last solo release which was the Marathi drama, Lai Bhaari. The Marathi drama had taken a opening of 3.10 crores at the domestic box office.
Riteish has been lucky when it comes to his multi-starrer films which have always scored high. Given the Mumbai setting, the film has chances to work at the city’s single screens. It will have to buck up over the weekend.
The film also stars Nargis Fakhri in a lead role and has been directed by Ravi Jadhav.
*Final numbers awaited.
