Bewakoofiyan has nothing silly about it. Rather the trailer makes quite a bold head start. The film is about Mohit and Myrah’s love story and how their smooth love life turns upside down due to change of fate, out of the blue. Ayushmann Khurrana slips into the gusty, energetic role that had made him popular in Vicky Donor and despite being two films old, the actor’s charm clearly is his fascinating enthusiasm which is put to good use here.

Directed by Nupur Asthana, who has previously delivered the surprisingly delightful film Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, manages to remain just as quirky and equally corny in Bewakoofiyaan too. Going by the trailer, it’s Asthana’s treatment of the subject that holds more to look forward to than the novelty of the story itself. A khadoos baap trying to put down beti’s fiance has nothing unusual about it.

However, more than Sonam’s cute demeanor and Ayushmann’s super cool charm, it is Rishi Kapoor’s fierceness that has more thrust to it. He is near perfect when he yells, “Senior Kya? Chaprasi” and Ayushmann says to himself, “Sala baap nai Osama-type terrorist hai!” I am expecting the film’s dialogues to be hilarious and witty given that it flourishes on Habib Faisal’s groundwork. Faisal’s association with Rishi Kapoor gave us the unmatchable Do Dooni Chaar and hence there is much to expect from this film to.

Beside the obvious sunnier side, there is of course Bollywood’s little princess Sonam Kapoor who looks her best fashionista self in the film. Her fantastic bikini draped on her sleek body is surely spectacular to say the least. Though not much has been said about her acting skills despite the off beat Raanjhanaa in her kitty, this truly might be Sonam’s chance to change the non-actress or just-a-pretty-face opinion about her.

They is nothing very candyfloss about the trailer, but there is a hint of excitement in the trailer which makes you look forward to the movie on a lighter note. An entirely, un-sappy, not over the top, just sheer fun film is a rarity and Asthana is one amongst the few who can pull it off well.
