The Subhash Ghai film ‘Kaanchi’ opened to low numbers. According to early estimates, the film collected a mere amount of 85 Lakhs on its opening day. The film starring débutante, Indrani Chakraborty aka Mishti in the lead role failed to create an impact as against to the other release like Revolver Rani.

Tackling the ideas of youth power and reformation, Kaanchi received average critics ratings. The film lacks star quotient and even an unimpressive music are a downer for the film. This Subhash Ghai film is being said to be a typical 90s film that does not giving a new age vibe and thus seems to have no takers. Also the film will have a tough competition from a strong performance film like that of Kangana’s Revolver Rani.

Kaanchi may pick up over the weekend as the film has a decent screen count and considering that it has a love story, it may cater to audiences who would avoid watching a action packed Revolver Rani or a thriller like Samrat & Co.
