Sunny Deol is an actor who has never ran after the Superstar tags. And still he commands respect and stature by virtue of his own achievements. In an interview with Koimoi before the release of Dishkiyaoon, Deol said, “I am not an actor who follows rules. I usually have been someone who has taken up roles what have come my way mostly. We only portray the characters that come our way. The only difference now is that we discuss with the audiences what characters we are playing in films. The PR ways are more active now. For audiences it is still entertainment that go looking for.”

With changing ways of the industry, Sunny is not delusional or arrogant but has been actively participating in media interactions. Ask him why and he coolly replies, “For the young generation right now, the newer lot over here, there is a possibility that they have or have not seen my earlier works. But media interaction helps me creating a greater awareness.”

Ask him about the younger actors of the industry, he is quick to reply, “I have not seen much of the films of the actors of young generation but definitely Chintu’s son has been more promising. Ranbir’s films have caught my attention.”

It is quite a credit for the young superstar that industry veterans are already sitting up to notice him. With off beat films like Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos and Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet in his kitty this year, Ranbir surely is going places!
