One of Bollywood's most versatile actors, Manoj Bajpayee continues to enjoy the success of the critically acclaimed film Aligarh, with it receiving appreciation at several international film festivals. In fact, he recently bagged an award for his portrayal of a homosexual professor in the film.

Manoj Bajpayee was presented with the Best Actor award for his outstanding performance in Aligarh at the prestigious Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival. Inspired by true events in Uttar Pradesh, Aligarh questions our society's norms when it comes to one's choice of sexuality and its acceptance, as a journalist sets out to unfold the story of a professor who is suspended from his college on grounds of homosexuality. While Manoj Bajpayee plays the protagonist, the role of the journalist is played by Rajkummar Rao. Expressing his gratitude towards the director of the film Hansal Mehta, Manoj further also thanked the entire team of the film and also added that the film continues to receive applauses across the world.
