PadMan has been moving slowly but steadily at the box office in its 2nd week. Everyone expected Aiyaary to apply the brakes on its collection but Black Panther came out of syllabus for the film. Released amidst the chaos of Padmaavat, PadMan has done well for itself.

Post crossing the 70 crore mark at the box office the movie has slowed down its pace. The trend, for sure, is not as good as Akshay Kumar’s last movie Toilet: Ek Prem Katha but it’s good enough to yield a profit to the makers. Made on a very well planned budget, 37 crores, PadMan is the first movie to enter the list of most profitable movies of 2018.

It has collected 1.25 crores on its 2nd Tuesday and now stands at the grand total of 74.65 crores. From here, the 100 crore club seems pretty much an impossible track for the movie but it can turn tables if it stays stable in its 3rd week. It has a very tough competition from Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, which could surprise everyone.

Balki, the director, was asked about banning of the film in Pakistan, he said “You can’t ban a film like this. If you are banning this film, then you are actually being unfair to women and humanity because it’s not just because of the movie, it’s because of a story of this man’s life and what issue its addressing.”

Balki also informed that the Middle East has accepted the film.

“Strangely, the film’s biggest success is in the Middle East. It’s the first film to be screened in Iraq and a country where Hindi cinema wasn’t released earlier and are conservative in their outlook.

“I am sure there (Pakistan) will be a lot of public pressure too, to kind of want to see the film because this is not a political kind of stuff. It’s a simple film for humanity,” said Balki.
