Sanjay Dutt who was earlier convicted in connection with his involvement in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, was recently in the city on parole. This conviction came post the Supreme Court upheld Dutt's conviction under the Arms Act in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case and reduced an original six-year sentence to five.
After a month-long furlough in October, Dutt returned to jail only to be granted parole on December 6, 2013, on the grounds that his wife Manyata was unwell and needed medical care. Post this the actor has since sought two parole extensions, which ended on Friday.
