Months ago, Excel Entertainment announced a con film titled Mr. Chaalu but it seems that the film is still facing troubles to go on floor. The replacement of the male lead and now the clash of dates seem to have pushed the schedule of the film further than expected.
Reema Kagti who will be directing the film had earlier signed Saif Ali Khan to play the role of Mr. Chaalu. However, the deal fell through and later, Shahid Kapoor came on board. Though Shahid came to the rescue, he seems to have prior commitments which are yet to be fulfilled. The actor has three films in hand currently. While he has almost wrapped up the Vikas Bahl directorial Shandaar, he will have to soon start the shoot of Abhishek Chaubey's Udta Punjab and Raj Nidimoru - Krishna DK's Farzi. Hence we hear that the actor has requested Ritesh Sidhwani, co-founder of Excel Entertainment to postpone the shoot of Mr. Chaalu in order to accommodate the schedule of other films. Though director Reema Kagti refused to divulge any details over the postponement, she did claim that the schedule of the film has been derailed and they are making efforts to get it back on track.
Mr. Chaalu also stars Kangna Ranaut and Richa Chadda in prominent roles and will go on floor once the date issues of the stars are sorted.
