It seems that Christmas has come in early this year for Sid Mallya, the son of the businessman Vijay Mallya. After having 'been around' in the showbiz for quite some time now, it seems that the time has come for the Sid to gear up for his much talked about Hollywood debut.
The untitled film is being directed by the Kolkata based Q (whose works include Tasher Desh and Gandu) and produced by Steve Barron (whose films include Dan Akroyd's Coneheads and Mike Bassett's England Manager). The film's story is a witty teen comedy that is centered on the quizzers scene in the early 80s in India. The said film has Sid playing one of the leading roles with four new actors being cast in pivotal roles alongside him.
A source closely associated to the film said, "Being an independent content focused film, it's not too massive a production and has both a British and an Indian team working on it, since a large chunk of it will be shot in Bangalore."
The film is expected to go on floors in the first quarter of next year.
