No doubts! Shah Rukh Khan, the ultimate Baadshah of Box Office, is the Baadshah of ‘Cricketainment’ world too. The King who owns hearts, and has a super classy team of cricketers, wishes to have the classy tale of their victory told to the world in form of a documentary. Yes! There is documentary film being made on the Team Kolkata Knight Riders.

It was ideated with an informal conversation, when Shah Rukh and his creative team discussed and zeroed upon that they will document the whole journey of KKR right from the very formation to their Victory Parade in 2012.

It was in 2008 when, Red Chillies Entertainment owned by Shah Rukh and Mehta Group; a wing of Juhi Chawla’s husband Jai Mehta; jointly bought an IPL Team Kolkata Knight Riders for an exorbitant sum of 350 crores approximately. Since then, Baadshah is leaving no sector untouched and no stone unturned to make the team stand out from the rest. Be it best of the players from all around the world, the classiest team anthem, the best from the rest cheerleaders, SRK made team KKR a brand with unmatched value.

Since the very start, there were a series of cameramen, who trailed and shot all behind the scenes action of the players and the rest of the team, in dressing rooms, on field, during practice sessions, while intercity travelling, at official meets and planning sessions and so on. The whole footage will be put together in the form of a film and will have none other than Baadshah Khan giving a voice over for the same. After all it is his brainchild!

The whole journey of failures and successes and the transformation of KKR from delivering duds to rising from the ashes will be all told in the featured film. It took three seasons for Team KKR to bag the title and come out as Champions of IPL Season 4 in 2012 after beating the Defending Champions Chennai Super Kings, in their home ground Chennai. SRK, who is the Brand Ambassador of the state of West Bengal, will talk about the love he has for the city of Joy; about Sourav Ganguly, the first captain of the Team and their equation; the players; the journey of the whole which led them to victory, all in the film.

The news of the documentary being made on KKR was confirmed by Venky Mysore, who is the MD and CEO of Kolkata Knight Riders. He is elated about the idea and wants to share the joy of owning such a wonderful team with the world.

Seems to be inspired by the British Documentary ‘Fire In Babylon’, which was the documentary film about the record shattering West Indies Cricket Team during the period of 70s and 80s. Even though it may seem inspired, the news of a documentary on KKR, is the ultimate New Year Gift to all KKRians, who love Kolkata Knight Riders and definitely for all Shah Rukh Khan buffs.
