Producer Kavita Barjatya is coming up with a surprise packet from Rajshri Productions, which is known for their family dramas. She will be seen taking the Rajshri banner to a dynamic and contemporary new turn with her maiden production Samrat & Co.

The film's unique and intriguing trailer was launched with great fanfare at a suburban multiplex in Mumbai with not only the entire cast and crew but the Barjatya scions as well. Post the launch the innovative and refreshing trailer has been immense appreciated by not only the industry and fans alike, but also on the digital world. Words of appreciation have been pouring in from all corners for this unique offering from Rajshri, and the first detective movie of the year. Known for his strong acting histrionics, Rajeev's look as Samrat and his dialogue delivery is also being immensely appreciated.

We are used to seeing Rajshri movies with mostly nice, sugar quoted characters living in a rosy loving world... Among all these 'white' characters you would have just one or two black characters which eventually turn positive as the movie ends. Kavita Barjatya comes out with her maiden venture Samrat & Co. which has a huge band of characters like any other Rajshri movie but the twist in the tale is that all the characters are grey. This Rajeev Khandelwal starrer film is directed by Kaushik Ghatak.

In this film, Rajeev essaying the role of 'Samrat', plays a private investigator. Samrat is extremely intelligent, a bit eccentric and a king at heart.

Specially targeting India's young audiences, Samrat & Co is the first of its kind detective franchisee, wherein the very nuances of crime solving, human nature and the world of standalone private investigators will be presented on the big screen on a pure entertainment platform.

It is no doubt a very different and unique step coming from Rajshri... but at the same time, it has all the ingredients of a mainstream Bollywood movie. Releasing on April 25, 2014, Samrat & Co. is produced by Kavita Barjatya under her family banner Rajshri Productions and is directed by Kaushik Ghatak.
