Finally putting an end to his legal battle, Tom Cruise dropped his $50 million lawsuit against Life & Style's publisher, claiming that he abandoned his daughter, Suri Cruise.

The legal battle was brought to its conclusion in a California federal court on Friday (December 20), and the story ran after the end of Tom and Katy Holmes' five-year marriage in June 2012.

During the one-year court battle, the "Mission Impossible " superstar demanded details about the tabloid's sources, and his lawyer, Bert Fields, said in October 2012, that, "Tom doesn't go around suing people."

Fields continued, saying, "He's not a litigious guy. But when these sleaze peddlers try to make money with disgusting lies about his relationship with his child, you bet he's going to sue. Tom is going to want to push this one all the way."
