Description: Aitbaar which released in 1985 was the 3rd film by maverick filmmaker Mukul S. Anand who would go on to make such classics as Agneetpath, Hum and Khuda Gawah with Amitabh Bachchan and other movies such as Maha-Sangram. For this movie (produced by Romesh Sharma who would later produce HUM) he was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's "Dial M For Murder" (Grace Kelly). Normally Bollywood remakes are not something to write home about -especially those from the 80's. But this time they got everything right. Even if you know what's going to happen coz' you have seen one of the English versions your attention is on the screen continuously. This is thanks to the direction, good production and good performances by everyone -even Suresh Oberoi is tolerable. But the scene-stealer is without any doubt Danny Denzonpa is his guest role. Wish there was more of him in the movie. A good thriller.
