These beautiful glass sculptures depicting ocean waves were made by Paul DeSomma and Marsha Blaker, a husband and wife team, known internationally for their glass and ceramic art. Paul and Marsha have a studio in Live Oak, CA. where they create both individually and collaboratively. They work mainly with hot glass and create pieces from both blown glass, which ends as a hollow piece, or solid works, which are large pieces of glass manipulated while molten.

Paul DeSomma and Marsha Blaker both worked at the acclaimed Pilchuck Glass School where they met and married a couple years later, opening their studio in 2001. Marsha Blaker-DeSomma received her Masters Degree in both ceramics and glass and attended Pilchuck Glass School as a scholarship student and as a staff member. Paul DeSomma, on the other hand, is a glass artist who specializes in figurative work. Paul first blew glass in New York City in 1983, and spent the next 15 years working and studying in studios in Seattle, Washington and Murano, Italy.
