Portuguese photographer André Vicente Gonçalves’s “Windows of the World” is a fascinating look into the architectural trend in window design across different parts of the world.
While documenting this structural element, Gonçalves discovered that not only do buildings themselves have a distinctive identity, but cities, too, have their own design aesthetic, and that distinction shows its face best through the city’s various windows. By collaging his photographs from specific regions into a single image, Gonçalves reveals trends and styles that dominate the area, while also highlighting the subtle differences that separate one city’s windows from another’s.
Here is a selection of his photographs. Visit the website for more.
