In a year that was almost ruled throughout with soft melodies, romantic ballads and some beautiful renditions that would stamp 2013 as one of the most musical years in the film fraternity, the year was a mixed bag of some humongously hummable and party-licious numbers that made one dance and move to the beats, anytime any moment of the day.

Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Sonakshi Sinha, Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan

Guess we all did shake our booties to these foot tapping numbers that rocked the charts this year. Time to take a pick!

Party On My Mind, Race 2 (KK, Honey Singh)

Setting the tempo of the year was KK and Honey Singh’s brilliantly mixed ‘Party On My Mind‘ number which rocked discotheques ever since. The enticing beats and the calculated jives made way for a superb number which was high on intensity and fun! The song made people wear their party shoes, and let their body loose, total partykhor style!

Sadda Dil Vi Tu, ABCD (Hard Kaur)

Hard Kaur had been my personal favourite from years until she decided to take a step back and sing lot fewer songs than what she used to. The way Hard Kaur lends that funky hip hop flavor to any number is seemingly engaging. And the ‘Sadda Dil Vi Tu’ track somehow escalated as the new victory anthem of sorts, thanks to Hard Kaur’s powerful tone.

Badtameez Dil, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (Benny Dayal, Shefali Alvaris)

Definitely the biggest party track of the year, one that embodied full on party fervor with immense aplomb, ‘Badtameez Dil‘ starts off on a really high note and was catchy right from the first tune. Stupid lyrics mingled with some peppy beats made up for an otherwise fun number that allowed anyone to move in the best ways, possible to him. But don’t forget doing the signature hand movement, please!

Havan Karenge, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (Divya Kumar)

Rythmic and Foot tapping beats ornament in this Divya Kumar rendition. Free filling and encouraging, this number had instantly become a rage among the guys after it was released. ‘Havan Karenge‘ became the new catchphrase and somehow Maston ka Jhund scored over all the other numbers from the album.

Dhating Naach, Phata Poster Nikhla Hero (Nakash Aziz, Shefali Alvares)

Sexy, seductive, and brilliantly comical, Rajkumar Santoshi’s Phata Poster Nikhla Hero might have failed at the box office but he created something so energetic that will have his film remembered for the next few years. Dhating Naach, the ultimate party number comes with strange lyrics and is fetchingly peppy and upbeat. Bubbly and perky, Dhating Naach rounded off the year on a superb note. What more are you thinking for? Chalo, ek, do teen, chaar, paanch, aye Dhating Naach!

Party All Night, Boss (Honey Singh)

It was all Yo Yo Honey Singh all the way this year as he perfected his rap and his hardcore timing with an enigmatic party number, the only good thing about the entire film. While Party All Night helped all our parties to brim over till the wee hours, all night long, we could not help but just make that emphatic move.

Gandi Baat, R….Rajkumar (Mika Singh, Kalpana Patowary)

Another film that created madness and gave a new dimension to Dirty Dancing, R. Rajkumar had one of the most affluent item numbers this season as ‘Gandi Baat’ raged away to the chartbuster’s list with a storm. Playing it on a loop on the phones was just a trick, but the hand movement caught a frenzy. ‘Gandi Baat’ became the new talk of the town and how!

1 2 3 4 Get On The Dance Floor, Chennai Express (Vishal Dadlani, Hamsika Iyer)

The song when released could not quite catch attention but with time slowly as it did, it was like a house on fire. Drums, dhols, beats and the South Indian mood was brought about oh-so-perfectly in this number which made our booty shake ‘1 2 3 4‘ and kept on shaking till the song got over. Hamsika’s infectious voice made this song an orgasmic hear.

Lungi Dance, Chennai Express (Honey Singh)

A song that ravaged around the nation making the Lungi the new fashion statement, Yo Yo Honey Singh had his hearts out in his tribute to the Thalaiva. ‘Lungi Dance‘, with its brilliant feel good atmosphere had the nation swooning to it and more than that, it kept the people on groove who were busy making a lungi out of anything they wore! Definitely the Song of the Year, Lungi Dance is outrightly crazy and indeed emerges as the confluence of Bollywood and Tolly’s biggest superstars! When there’s Lungi dance playing in the background, you can’t just sit there and watch without joining the floors.

Tooh, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (Mamta Sharma, Mika Singh)

The film might have tanked but its no denial that the movie had some brilliant numbers and ‘Tooh‘ was the Best from the otherwise raunchy album. Vibrant and extremely effervescent, Tooh is the best wedding song that we have had in a long time. From moms, dads, uncles, aunties everyone had their Toohs grove to the beat as the killer duo Mamta Sharma and Mika Singh nailed it with their enjoyable and amusing fervor. After all, everybody does it and you can do it tooh! We love.
