Bajirao Mastani has achieved a feat that no other film has done before. For the first time ever in the history of Bollywood, a film which has opened at a number greater than 10 crore has actually managed to almost equal that figure on its eight day. Yes, many small films have achieved such a feat but they have had an opening of 1 or 2 crore. However, such a feat is truly unthinkable, though now it has happened.

So Bajirao Mastani, which had its first Friday of 12.8 crore, has brought in 12.25 crore on its second Friday, hence coming close to the 100 crore mark. The film now currently stands at 98.40 crore and is galloping in a major way. The film is pretty much behaving as if it has just been a new release and that can be further ascertained from the fact that its second Friday is not far behind the first Friday of Ram Leela [15.73 crore].

Talking about records, this is also the first ever instance of a film almost touching the 100 crore mark in 8 days when its opening day (12.8) has been less than 15 crore. As a matter of fact any other film which has managed 100 crore in 7 days has been the one which has opened to 20 crore or more. The only exception has been Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which grew from a 19.45 crore opening day to the first week total of 106.6 crore.

However, for Bajirao Mastani to open at 12.8 crore and then maintain almost the same average in its first 8 days, hence coming close to the 100 crore mark, is simply remarkable.
