While Yaariyan continued to score over the first week, Dedh Ishqiya managed to swell lesser at the box office with the film barely scraping through its investment. The film made an earning of 19 crores in its week one at the box office.

Though, Dedh Ishqiya will surely be the choice of the critics and the intelligentsia for this year, audiences have clearly shown a preference for Yaariyan over Dedh Ishqiya. Despite its bigger stars and the elegant touch, the film couldn’t topple over Yaariyan which is more relate-able and youth centric.
