The grunge Rock band Magik will recreate their magic once again in the second installment of the uber-successful musical film Rock On (2008). And the good news is that the much awaited sequel to this Indian Rock genre will see the original star cast.

Rock On was the successful platform from which Farhan Akhtar’s acting career took off and even got Arjun Rampal his first National Award.

The buzz has it that the makers of the film will retain the primary cast of Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli. However, the major replacement in the film is the director. Unlike the first part which was helmed by Abhishek Kapoor, the sequel will be directed by Shujaat Saudagar. Shujaat is an ad-film maker and has been called on board to helm the successor musical film.

The film is to go on floors in January 2015. Other details of the cast and the film are still under the wraps and an official announcement about it is still awaited.
