After Sanjay Leela Bhansali had to change the title of his film Ram-Leela to Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, the Bombay High Court now is unhappy with the film being certified as U/A.
A division bench of Justice V M Kanade and M S Sonak has asked the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to re-consider its certification asking them to analyze if the film fits into the guidelines being provided. Moreover, the bench has even asked the CBFC to confirm if the film has violated any laws or fundamental rights of the citizens.
Recently, Sandeep Shukla, a Congress member filed a petition against the film for hurting religious sentiments, claiming that the title 'Ramleela' is misleading. Hence, the court has now decided to intervene into the matter and the CBFC has been asked to hear and pass an order on this matter in a span of four weeks. The court has also warned the CBFC to be cautious while certifying films.
