Now it couldn't have been more innovative than this. For Sanjay Chhel directed upcoming film Kill The Rapist, it would be audience that would decide its climax. Accordingly, the makers would take a call on whether the character of a rapist in the film would be killed or spared.

"This would be through online polling that would commence from today and go on till end of January," informs our source, "After watching the promo, a viewer would get an option of choosing an apt finale. Accordingly, the makers would retain the chosen ending for the film which is aiming for release in February-March timeframe."

This innovative marketing campaign has been a brainchild of producer Siddhartha M Jain who has earlier produced Ragini MMS.

"In the times when power is in the hands of 'aam junta', it was just apt that they decide how to deal with men who are behind such heinous crimes. Of course we are not being the flag bearers on any law being changed but acting as a catalyst to let the voice of 'junta' reach out to powers that be," says Siddhartha.

"On one side we are calling homosexuality as a criminal offence and on the other side we are seeing rapists go scot-free because of lack of evidence. Is that fair for someone who has not just been tormented and but also left with the ignominy of knowing that the man responsible for it all has walked free? It is the very predicament faced by the central protagonist in the film (played by Anjali Patil of Chakravyuh fame). She has to choose between killing or leaving the man who raped her. Now audience would decide for her the path that she should take and that is what would play in the film's ending," he continues.

To ensure that there is no last minute rush of choosing an ending, both climaxes for the film have already been shot. The verdict would be announced once the polling is through in January end.
