After the song Patakha Guddi gave a glimpse of the terrific music in Highway, maestro A.R. Rahman renders his voice to the next song Maahi Ve.

Maahi Ve is written by lyricist Irshad Kamil. A deliciously beautiful soft romantic number sung by Rahman himself, he inimitably soulful. The song highlight the unusual chemistry of its lead pair Veera (Alia) and Mahabir (Randeep) , as eerie circumstances bring them closer.

“Maahi Ve is coming more from Rahman sir than from Irshad or me. This is one of the songs that Rahman sir makes and one wonders how the hell does he get the soul of the the story so beautifully. Maahi Ve was not a part of the original brief but I can not imagine the film or the album of Highway without it”, says director Imtiaz Ali.

Highway, produced by Window Seat Films and presented by Sajid Nadiadwala, will be released worldwide by UTV Motion Pictures. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Highway is a travelogue film featuring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda who traverse through six states of the country.
