Popular electronics major Lenovo along with their celebrity brand ambassador Ranbir Kapoor have launched a new initiative 'Kick for a Brick' to help empower the girl child. Under this initiative, Ranbir Kapoor and Indian professional footballer Sunil Chhetri challenge the audience to literally 'Kick for a Brick' with every kick adding a brick to the YUWA girls' new school.
The campaign was initiated after a group of girls from a village in Jharkhand battled the odds to reach their goal, to play football at an international level. In fact the girls managed to come home as second runners up in the Under-14 Gasteiz Cup in Spain. Under YUWA, a Jharkhand based non-profit organization, the girls are provided a platform to gain confidence to make a change in their world. Tying up with YUWA, Ranbir Kapoor along with Lenovo has begun the campaign to create awareness about setting up a school for YUWA girls.
