Sidharth Malhotra has carved for himself the image of a quintessential romantic lead in the industry. The space for the chocolate boy of Bollywood was empty for a while and Malhotra slipped in well with his dynamic persona and mysterious personality. In a recent interview with Koimoi, Sidharth spoke candidly about his actresses Alia Bhatt as well as Parineeti Chopra. But when asked to pick between Alia, Parineeti and her lead lady from Ek Villain Shraddha Kapoor, the actor jokingly remarked, “I believe in living in the present. So probably my pick would be Shraddha.” Though the actor blurted out Parineeti’s name accidentally, he covered up well for it.

Sidharth will all seriousness continued, ” I usually give ‘tedha-medha’ answers to this question but in all honesty, these are all different experiences. There can never be any favorite. But as an actor, since Ek Villain was my toughest role so far, it will be Shraddha from a performance based perspective.”

Justifying the experience of working with Shraddha, Sid added, ” This is more of a character based role where I needed the person on the opposite side to give a higher level of commitment. It needed us to be there for each other even when we are not on camera. For instance when we had a crying scene, the director wants to finish the cut of person who is crying in the scene first so that they can emotionally drain and they don’t get tired, after which they film the other actor. At one time, I had finished my multiple crying scenes for a sequence and then it was Shraddha on camera. It was our first emotional scene together and I felt the scene needed me to perform even when I was not on camera. Shraddha really appreciated it. She came and told me ‘you are still crying’. I told her that yes the scene required it. It is a very important thing to get that frame right so how does it matter the camera is not rolling. From then on, there was that certain degree of respect we had for each other. She would perform for me and I would perform for her regardless of the fact whether we are on camera or off camera. We perform a scene like a scene which has helped the film I feel. It’s the kind of respect me and Shraddha have shared on screen is a good experience.”

This the second time Shraddha Kapoor is all set to appear in a Mohit Suri film. Starring Sidharth and Shraddha, the film also feature Riteish Deshmukh. The film will release on 27th June.
