Returning to the big screen nearly a decade after its predecessor, "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" brought in an impressive $2.3 million on Tuesday night (December 17).

The iconic comedy features the comical talents of Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and Christina Applegate, and expects to gross $40 million or more by this Sunday.

In stiff competition with rival comedy hits, such as "We Are the Millers," which brought in $38 million, and "This Is the End," grossing $33 million, "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" has engaged in strong advertisements, featuring Will as his alter-ego, Ron, on car commercials, TV shows, and even Ben & Jerry's!

Today marks the movie's official release, so run out to your nearest mall or movie theater, and check out the highly-anticipated sequel!
