Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s latest film, “The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond“, had a poor opening at the Indian box office on Friday. Expectations were high after the first instalment’s success, but the sequel failed to match that initial hype. The film has received positive reviews from both critics and audiences, so it could still pick up over the weekend and is likely to post a double‑digit total in its opening weekend. However, stiff competition from several new releases and a relatively limited number of screens for The Kerala Story 2 may constrain its collections.

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under Sunshine Pictures, the film is a sequel to the 2023 film The Kerala Story and stars Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia and Aishwarya Ojha. The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond was released theatrically on 27 February 2026.
