Description: Video details - FiOsJQ5-cfk: I have this thing for delayed movies released many years after they were supposed to release initially. For instance Joy Mukherjee's "Love In Bombay" featuring himself, Waheeda Rehman, Ashok Kumar and Kishore Kumar was such a movie. Zeenat Aman was also in the movie but her role got edited out. The film was supposed to release in 1974 but was released in 2013. Another painful, but fun nonetheless, experience was the movie "Yaar Meri Zindagi". This movie starred Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha. The shooting started in the era of "Raaste Ka Pathar" and the film was finally released in 2008. The film was left incomplete and the script was changed and since Amitabh could not shoot for the movie a double was used but Shatrughan Sinha did shoot for the movie. Hence you have Shatru in the movie looking like he did in the "Raaste Ka Patthar"days, in the next scene he looks like his "Khudgarz" days and in another scene he looks like he did in "Aan: Men At Work". That brings me to this movie - "Do Chehre". This movie was announced in the late 90's and starred Shatrughan Sinha, Sunil Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Farha Naaz, Shakti Kapoor, Kiran Kumar and Mohnish Behl in the typical Mohnish Behl 90's role pre- "Hum Saath Saath Hain". Actors like Shatrughan Sinha and Rajesh Khanna who had looked down on Amitabh Bachchan and had made fun of him on several occasions wanted to be seen in movies like the Bachchan movies. That is why Rajesh Khanna did movies like "Wafa" (his Nishabd) and "Riyasat" (his "Sarkar"). It goes without saying that the movies flopped. Shatrughan Sinha did go even further. He went on to star in the "remake" of one of Bachchan's best movies (but underrated movies) with some minor changes. Take the basic plotline of "Kasme Vaade" (1978 - Amitabh Bachchan, Raakhee, Randhir Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Rekha, Amjad Khan) substitute the death of the elder brother with the death of the younger brother and substitute the younger brother trying to reform the lookalike of the elder brother in the older brother trying to reform the lookalike of the younger brother and you have the basic story of "Do Chehre". In "Kasme Vaade" Amit wears glasses and the lookalike Shekhar has a moustche. Here Sunil 1 wears glasses and Sunil 2 has a moustache. Dear God! Then Shatrughan Sinha's movies flopped and Sunil Shetty had one flop after another and the film got shelved. Almost 10 years later another producer bought the rights to the film and wanted to complete the film. Sunil Shetty however, wisely, refused to complete the film as it was too dated (just like he refused to complete "Barood" also featuring Shilpa Shirodkar. Even that movie's story was changed and the film was completed and finally released in 2012). And once again Shatrughan Sinha, who had no films in hand and still thinks of himself as a hero, agreed to complete the film. So we have a changed script and Shatrughan Sinha, Shakti Kapoor and Kiran Kumar of the original cast who are participating with the new cast -mainly Krishna Abhishek (of "Govinda is my mama fame"). So "Kasme Vaade" suddenly changes into "Yeh Vaada Raha" due to the fact that Sunil got replaced with Krishna for the last 30 minutes. You have to really see this to believe this movie. It is bad, it is camp and it is sooo bad that it is fun to watch. We go back to those 90's songs by Poornima, singing for Raveena here, dances like those late 80's and 90's dances -like watching a PT class. To make the film look new they roped in Negar Khan and Saahil Chaddha (that was when they were still known). By the time the film was completed they were not even in India anymore so just their one song is in the movie but they do got billed for a special appearance. What I can't understand is that Farha Naaz is not even credited in the billing while she did shoot to complete the movie and even her looks keep changing. And, well 'Kasme Vaade" had music by RD Burman and evergreen songs by Kishore Kumar, LataMangeshkar, Mohd.Rafi, Asha Bhosle, RD Burman and Amit Kumar and this movie has not even one passable song. This movie is edited from 2 different prints to get the complete movie. We do not own the rights to this movie nor to the soundtrack. All rights are with the rightful owners.
