They are living with no complaints & no demands. To be frank, we cannot use the word "living" here, the "survival" is more apt word considering the context. The destiny has pulled them into those dirty pits. Most of them are handicaps or the bearers of incurable diseases. Many of them makes a living by begging. According to the latest surveys, there are nearly half a million of buggers are in Indian streets. The burning stomachs, ailment & lack of family leads them to bow in front of others. This circumstances also leads some them to do thefts, and eventually caught by the law; which in turn makes them as criminals. On the other hand, what we are doing? As a responsible social animals we have to take good care of them. But we forgets the blesses given by the God and behaves with a state of mental imbalance. We are not giving any consideration to anyone who are below us. It is the fate which integrate us from them. Then why we are with this much aggression and non-humanity towards them? There is a story of disaster behind each and every homeless. Most of the children we see in the hands of the beggars are kidnapped; some of them gets tortured brutally and makes as handy capped. In this movie we may see a part of this. More pathetic is, there are some criminals who are taking from beggars, they brutally beats them and grabs the money with the nick name of 'shares'.In this movie "Ezhu Ratrikal", the seven nights, we can see all these type of characters. In some intervals the life of streets are contrasted with that of city people. Let’s start with Mariya & Varkki. Mariya is a very aggressive and rude woman. She has two children. Kunjappan & Gomathi. But she never was a good mother, Kunjappan is a 10 year boy and a theif. Gomathi sells herself for a living. Varkki is sick, but he didn't goes for begging, he do some strange "businesses" for a living with the help of Kunjappan. Annamma & Kumaran are couples, they have a six month old baby. She has a dark past. She & Abu were lovers. Abu took the responsibility of a crime, which her father did and went to jail. She waited for him, but her father died very soon. and she got sick. No one was there to take care of her, on that time, Kumaran came with the offers of helping hand and she had to marry him. On the other hand Abu tried to escape from jail and he get into an accident and he lost one leg. Abu came to know about her marriage and he felt utter disappointment. He eventually turned into a street singer for a living. Now Abu meet Annamma with Kumaran. Kumaran has doubts on her. Kunjali is musical toy maker, he had a history of jail sentence for murdering his wife. He had lost his daughter, Aisha long back. But he didn't know that, the blind girl Seetha who is with their pack is his daughter Aisha her self. Paramu is ugly faced humpback. He has a crush to Seetha. Udumbu Govindan is the criminal we were talking about. In the story line, a merchant called George gets murdered by Govindan. And he steals George's money and gold. He give Gold to Seetha to keep. You may see some funny moments of Varkki throughout. Mariya shows her wickedness to all. Govindan gets into dispute with Kunjali, but Govindan losses. Kunjali adopts Kunjappan. Kunjappan starts to help him. Abu forces Seetha to handover the Gold chain to police and Govindan came to know this. Now the movie stretches to climax, What may will happen to Seetha?
