When her wish is granted by her guardians, she leefools the guard to avoid coustant vigilance but lands heres if in troulele while shankar, even in an intaxiented state, rescues her & gives her shelter in his friend's house. Shankar lays out a plan to groom the girl well & pose her as mohini & to cash in on that. But in the process, he falls in love with her & mohini also grows a soft - corner for him. After one month, when the game is over, shankar comes at his wit's end to find the girl under his custody is mohini devi herself when the after awards him with a huge amount of money to pursue his dreams. He receives the cheque but later tears it up as he could not cater to the idea of taking alms from anyone. He makes up his mind to kidnap her & demand ransom in exchange of her release & elives that in this way he can earn the fortune, which he deserves, on his own. Meanwhile, she also falls in love with him & decides to give her wealth for charity. But her guardians are shocked to hear ii from her because they wanted to lay their hands upon the royal riches too. They conspire to kill her but the plan goes wrong as shankar takes her into his hostage. He communicates with her uncle & gets astonished to find that he is ready to give shankar double if he kills her. This change of heart occurs immediately as he understands that it is the money that makes man lease & selfish & make him commit hei nous crimes. After his return, he cannot find mohin & gets to know that she is abducted again to be handed over to her uncle. She flees away from theri custody to call her uncle who tells her taht shankar is going to murder her & asks her to come to him. But reaching there, she comes to know the real story & is ultimatley rescued by shankar. She donates all of her property for the welfare of the poor before going to shankar but then comes shankar's letter in which he writes that he is leaving the city. Mohini finds him in the station & admits her love for him. Shankar feels as leaving the city if he has got the reward of his lifetime.
