Description: Video details - D6pGbajcSRI: Right up-to the 90's Bollywood produced some classic masala movies. Films we all enjoyed to the hilt even though we would know (almost everytime) what the next scene could be... or logic was missing we still enjoyed those masala movies. Especially the ones by Manmohan Desai. But most of the time the stories of the films were the same... 2 or 3 brothers separate at birth etc, two friends/brothers fall in love with the same girl, rich girl falls in love with poor boy or vice versa, dad/mom get killed or sister gets raped and son/brother takes revenge... Once in a while a film came which did not have that same story. Though there have been many films made in Bollywood which were real disasters there is only 1 real actually disaster movie which was made in Bollywood. Just 1 disaster movie in the style of the classics like The Towering Inferno, Airport, Earthquake etc. In Hollywood these disaster movies always had a great starcast. Well Bollywood's answer to the disaster movies of Hollywood had one as well. After making his debut as a director with Zameer (Amitabh Bachchan, Saira Banu, Vinod Khanna, Shammi Kapoor) Ravi Chopra directed this movie for B.R. Chopra. THE BURNING TRAIN is -in my opinion- Ravi Chopra's best film ever (even better than Baghban) and is also in my all time top 10 favourite Bollywood movies. Another aspect I want to mention is the music o f the movie. Rahul Dev Burman compsed some gems of songs for this movie and Sahir has written some beautiful lyrics. But what sets this movie apart is the excellent background score by RD Burman. In Hollywood movies there is a thing called "theme music". And sometimes a character in a movie has a theme music. Well in THE BURNING TRAIN RD Burman has given the main characters a theme (music) as well. For instance whenever Dharam and Hema see each other in the train you get a version of "Vaada Haan Vaada" in the background. This is simply great. Maybe you won't understand what I am saying but you will after seeing this movie. For me this is an all time classic - a 5 star movie. This film- when initially released- was almost 3 hours. For some strange reason the dvd's of the movie (Shemaroo and others) have heavily edited the movie and reduced the length to 2 hour 20 minutes. Moser Baer had released the version which was originally released on VHS - the complete film. Here is the complete version of this all time classic. I hope you will enjoy this masala classic as much as I did and still do. We do not own the rights to this movie nor to the soundtrack. All rights are with the rightful owners.
