Description: Video details - x7Wh67nN7mA: In 1977 a Hollywood movie released called "Oh God" featuring country singer John Denver ( "Annie's Song") and George Burns. The film was such a big (sleeper) hit that the film was followed by 2 sequels which did not recapture the magic of this (first) movie. The movie revolves around a everyday normal guy (John Denver) who for some unknown reason starts hearing and seeing God (George Burns). God tells him that he has chosen John to do some things for him. Eventually people start to think that John is crazy because he is seeing and hearing God (and doing his work) and he ends up in the courtroom where a case is going on in which he is the defendant. He will be convicted unless God himself decides to come to court, testify for him and prove to the court that he indeed is God. The problem is God has moved on... The 90's was the era when Hollywood movies were remade by the dozen in Bollywood (unofficial - without paying for the rights). This had been going on in Bollywood since the 50's but in the 90's it was at it's peak. So even "Oh God" got a Bollywood makeover. The 90's had remakes that were really really bad like "Pyaar Ka Saaya" ("Ghost"), "Aatank Hi Aatank" ("The Godfather"), "Mann" (An Affair To Remember") and many more on one side and on the other side there were remakes that were really good like "Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin" ("It Happened One Night"), "Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke" (Houseboat), "Ghulam" ( "On The Waterfront"), "Baazigar" ("A Kiss Before Dying") and "Yes Boss" ("The Concierge"). This film falls in the first category. The film could have been much better if only there had been two other main leads in the movie. The film's producer - director decided to cast himself in the lead (a non actor) and in the female lead there is an actress called Manisha Konoija. She would not be succesful in Bollywood but would find succes years later in the tv serial "Kkusum". IMDB states that Manisha Koirala stars as Pooja in the film but that is not correct - Manisha Koirala is not in the film, Manisha Konoija is. The supporting cast is steller with Ashok Kumar in the George Burns role as God. The high-point of the movie undoubtedly is the soundtrack of the movie. Beautiful songs which not get the succes they deserved since the movie flopped. We do not own the rights to this movie nor to the soundtrack. All rights are with the rightful owners.
